Ok well went to the gym 3 times last week and it's caused more problems with my back so have been banned until it's healed. However, I'm not letting that stop me - time to take up YOGA!

going for my first session on thursday so will see how we go...

Had a bit of a set-back with a back / hip problem. Having physio 3 times a week but it has meant that my usual gym routine has had to focus on stretches and not a cardio / weight loss programme.
Hoping to be back to the gym next week properly, depending on how quickly I heal.
Must try and watch the calories even more while the excercise is limited.

Ok, so I am getting closer, but I seem to have slowed right down, I was a little slack last week, but generally am doing just as much training as I have been. I guess I need to up my effort in order to shift those last 9 lbs.

My diet was lazy last week too, pancake day is too good to miss though!

Any tips on how to up my game are muchly appreciated - only 6 weeks to go until I want to hit that goal!

It looks like that 1lb is saving me from an embarassing wig incident for the time being! ;) Good luck though :)

Hilarious picture! Those are jello representations of the Andes Mountains right? How appropriate since you MOUNTAIN bike! Keep it up!

That first stone is getting perilously close! - You don't fancy going out and eating some cakes or something do you? ;)

I'm sure you'll hit that goal before you can say 'shamelessly transparent reverse psychology' ;)

Cheers Kurvz,
I'm defo getting there slowly - clothes starting to fit better and feeling more confident about myself.
It's such a buzz when people notice!
Routine really helps, trying not to eat too late like you said, but I don't finish work til nearly 7 so sometimes it's 9 before I have dinner.
If you spent as much time on your bike as you did making Bogdan vids (or whatever he's called) you'd look like Lance Armstrong in no time! ;o)

Well, "Miss Night Rider" - as a motivational reward - once you get to the one stone left mark, I'll go cycling in a curly wig and post photos! 5lbs already is good going - well done :) - Hmmm, did I volunteer to do that a bit too readily? ;)

Hee hee, ok ok guys I'll give the night time riding a go, but only if you all address me as Miss Night Rider from now on!! (I'll even get a curly perm a la the HOFF)
just been reading the thread on lights on MTB forum. Evening riding would have to be on the cycle path along the sea front, but will still be getting out at the weekends on the trails so don't worry. I only have the one bike (my Spesh FSR XC), and it has some huge mother tyres on it, but I guess they'll just make me pedal harder right?
ok will have a look for some cheap lights...

Thanks for the encouragement chaps ;o)

Yay for getting the Scales! - I went in to John Lewis today and had a go on several sets of scales after the doubt of the two sets I used - and all of them gave wildly varying weight readings - even the posh expensive ones - so I'm going to stick with mine and even though it's a mystery if they weigh half a stone heavier or not, I'll be able to see progress (or lack of) regardless which is the important thing.

Cycling in winter is cool (forgive the pun!) - for one thing, because it's colder, your body works harder to keep you warm so you burn more calories. The main reason though is that it gets dark early and night riding is huge amounts of fun! :D

Ok, got the scales, today!
although I did weigh myself on a mates scales on sat and I was 2lb lighter than a few weeks ago... but after dave's experience, who knows if the scales were true, or how they compare.
So... I'm gonna start again with my new ones so at least I can keep track of my progress now.
Thanks for nagging me KurvZ, I'd never have got them otherwise.

also me and the man are joining the gym at the end of the month (something to do when the winter sets in and the thought of going out in the wind and the rain makes me wanna curl up on the sofa with a bumper bar of dairy milk - I feel a chocolate theme going on here!)
off for a swim tonight..... :o)

Hi Jess , glad to see you seem serious about this .. So far the only real tip I can give you is Get a routine and stick with it .. Like for me its no eating after 8:00pm ..

now of late I have floundered a bit with my Hols etc , but as of monday Im going to get back to my Routine as that was instrumental in my weight loss previously ..

i wish you luck and will keep a eye on you , and I hope all the wedding plans go as planned :) ... Dave
